The Murcia region of Spain is well known for this fabulous, citrus, juicy fruit. Claudios family history also includes the extraction of essential oils used to heal wounds, help restore hair loss, remove stains and widely used in culinary methods. You can see endless fields of lemons driving through winding roads and towns as they grace the landscape with their vibrant colour. Over 450,000 tonnes are produced every year.
Murcia lemons even grace the famous blue bottle of Bombay Sapphire Gin. You will find lemons for sale in the local supermarkets and on the many stalls of the Sunday Morning Corvera Market held in the main square each week.
The traditional Serrano Ham has been enjoyed by many across the globe for over 40 years. It can be found in Murcia in the local markets and village shops. Although this Jamon comes from the White Pig raised on farms of the Iberian Peninsular.

Tapa literally translates as 'Lid' or 'Cover' the tradition evolved from covering wine glasses with small plates of bread or cured meats to keep out the insects and dust. the art of this social act is called tapear in Spanish.
Salazones or slated fish common in the bars and restaurantsof the Costa Calida along the coast of the Mar Manor. The species used to produce this are mainly bluefin and long fin tuna. Evidence of the techniques of this delicacy date back to the Phoenician and can be found in a wreck site the 'Bajo de Campana' in San Javier.
